Grading You will be graded on your performance on homework, exams, exercises, and quizzes.  Your total score will determine your grade.  While I reserve the right to modify the boundaries, the range for an A is 90% and above, a B is 80 to 89%,  a C is 70 to 79%, a D is 60 to 69%. and an E is anything below 60%.   Homework There will be several homework assignments given out during the semester.  You can download them from the CLASS NOTES page.  You may work with at most two other students on the homework.  If you do work in a group then turn in one copy of the assigment with all your names on it.  Homework handed in by the bonus date will receive an extra 5% of their total score.  Homework handed in one day late will be docked 15% of the total possible.  Homework more than one day late will not be accepted.   Exercises and Quizzes From time to time, I will start class with a short quiz covering material from a recent lecture.  These quizzes will be closed book.  If you are late for class or miss class on a quiz day you will lose the points.  Quizzes can not be made up.  Also, some lectures will end with a short exercise assignment.  Exercises are always due at the beginning of the next lecture.  They are individual efforts so do not work with others on an exercise.
